The World Economic Forum reported only a small improvement in the gender gap over the nine years it collected data, up only 4% from 2006 to 2014.[i] The most equal countries for their regions were Nicaragua, Israel, Rwanda, Iceland, and the Philippines. The best countries for women’s economic participation were Burundi, Norway, Malawi, the US, and the Bahamas. Women have most political power in Iceland, Finland, Norway, Nicaragua and Sweden.
