Based on their polls in the US, the Harvard Institute of Politics found youth voting upsurged in the 2016 presidential elections, many are volunteers, and “they want to make the world a better place.”[i] Harvard focus groups indicated, “They want to do more than just vote. They want to be part of a campaign. Sanders was the first one since Obama to tap into that.” Pollster John Della Volpe reported, “Conversation is how you build a relationship with these young people. You empower them, ask them to volunteer, then you can ask them to vote.”
