Olympic athletes and other well-known women professional players added their support for BLM, as when soccer star Megan Rapinoe signaled her support for Colin Kaepernick by also kneeling during the national anthem at a game, rather than standing, to protest police violence against black people. She linked racism with discrimination against white lesbians like her. Women basketball players created what they called a “disruption” by refused to answer reporter’s post-game questions unless they were about BLM.[i]
