Do we neglect training boys to be men?

Author Gary Cross calls male slackers “boy-men,” Andrew Yarrow calls them Peter Pans, and others refer to Millennials’ delayed adulthood. In the film The Intern (2015), Anne Hathaway plays a successful young entrepreneur, Jules, with a stay-at-home husband taking care of their daughter (he is also having an affair). Jules tells young male interns that girls grew to be women but men devolved to boys, with no current Harrison Fords. She explains that girls had encouragement like Take Your Daughter to Work Day and slogans like “you go girl,” but boys had nothing to help them be gentlemen like the older man (age 70) played by Robert De Niro.
